Standard Frames

If you make the decision to protect your crops without the aid of chemicals, then using covers is all but essential. And to use covers effectively you need to have decent frames that don't snap, blow away, buckle in high winds or rust in the wet. 

Our standard frames are made from 25mm (1 inch) aluminium tubing which has a wall thickness of 2mm (³/₁₆ inch). They measure 60cm above the bed, plus a further 10cm that slots into an aluminium channel fixed to either the inside or outside edge of the bed.  Fixing our frames into the actual body and the sides of the beds gives them great strength - they're really robust and will withstand very high winds.  

If you have used curved frames in the past, you'll know that these can often make it difficult to grow crops along the edges of your bed, which is why these frames are upright, allowing you access to the full surface area of your raised bed.

FIT THESE FRAMES TO YOUR EXISTING RAISED BEDS

We make these one piece alumimium frames in a range of widths in 5cm increments (75cm to 175cm) so that you can fix frames to your existing raised beds, not just our own HGR beds.  Simply decide whether you want to attach the channel to the inside or outside walls of your bed and then measure the interior or exterior width of the bed and choose the appropriate frame width.  

The frames have a decent amount of tolerance,  so for example a frame measuring 100cm wide will fit a bed from 97cm wide to 103cm wide.
