Irrigation

Our irrigation uses a simple 7mm drip pipe made to run off water butts, and designed to work with a head of water of just 30cm.  

The pipe lays on the top of the soil and is held in place by steel pegs (supplied).  Each irrigation set can be connected to a butt via a 15mm hose (not supplied) and as long as the level of the water in the butt is 30cm higher than your raised bed, the pipe will water your vegetables in the very best possible way: thoroughly, slowly and with rain water.

If you don't have a water butt, or are concerned that it may run dry, you have the option of connecting to a mains supply. In this instance we can supply an in-line pressure regulator which stops any of the pipe fittings from 'blowing' when the tap is turned on. This allows the use of both mains and water butt sources, and enables you to continue to use the same irrigation system with tap water until your water butts are refilled by that bank holiday deluge.

By using a simple timer you can also ensure that your crops are watered regularly whenever you are away.
